Book Design and content research about our family hotel 'Hôtel des Nations' in Clervaux (Luxembourg).

Founded in 1865 by my ancestors, it has been our family tradition ever since. In 2018, in the 5th generation, I decided to not take over the hotel, so my family came to the conclusion that the best decision is to stop the business and tear down the building in 2020. My decision an its consequences encouraged me to make a book, for my bachelor in communication design, as an ‘hommage’ to the hotel, to my family, the tradition and the many, many memories that come with this beautiful place.

All the visuals in the book were found during my 2-month research in Luxembourg in various house cellars, attics, and public archives like the 'Bibliothèque Nationale du Luxembourg' and the archives of the local community of Clervaux. The texts, originally in luxembourgish, were based on the 15 interviews that I did with family members, former employees and long-term guests at the hotel.
